Michael Fleming is the owner, director and senior consultant / technician for DotProfile Consulting.

He has almost a decade's active experience in the computing and Internet industries, having worked extensively with many organisations, in particular:

• Webcentral Pty Ltd (a MelbourneIT Company)
• Designed, deployed and maintained their Shared MySQL offering
• Developed improvements and provided ongoing additions to their Simple Dedicated Servers offerings for Windows Server 2003 and Linux
• Provided support and technical expertise to customers and partners, including the National Rugby League, Nissan Australia, Sony BMG, AUSMAQ, Colorado Group, World Vision and Roving Enterprises
• Took a leadership and mentoring role, providing training materials and expertise in-house, much of which is still in active use.
• Sauce Software
• Developed backend interfaces for provisioning of new email, FTP and DNS users and domains
• Designed and implemented virtualised systems for in-house development services
• Provided major improvements in monitoring services and host security
• Engineered and supported a widely used intra-office messaging service based on open standards (XMPP), replacing a mix of ad-hoc, closed and non-interoperable clients
• HostingShop
• Provided crticial security expertise and analysis across a large shared hosting farm
• Deployed and developed a high-performance, highly scalable mail architecture for high volume mailouts
• Provided consultation on monitoring and configuration maintenance issues, deploying performance tracking tools and network device configuration management
• Implemented stratum 2 network time protocol services used across four datacentres and two states
• Consulted on automated / unattended network installations of both Windows and UNIX / Linux services

He is also an advocate for and active participant in the Free and Open Source community
